The weather started fine but soon deteriated to heavy snow, but team
green were determined to make the most of their last day we managed to
find a few news runs we had not done before. Lunch was a quick stop at
a wet picnic bench.
By the end of the day the sun reappeared and we had some fun skiing
between the trees, nigel managed to fall over lots of times!

It was snowing heavily today so we thought we might get away with a
easy day. Unfortunately we hadn't accounted for Sgt Major Bunston!
Just a quick eight hours on the piste left us looking like snowmen
(women) with legs of jelly
Lots and lots off fresh powder snow took a bit of getting used to but
turned out to be waaaaay rad!!!!

Yet another day of skiing!
The weather was warm and sunny today.
Decided to beat the moguls today instead of the moguls beating me.
(for those who do not know what moguls are they are huge collections
of snow like huge bumps which you have to ski ).
Can I now have a new set of knees please!
Today's lunch venue was a bench with a view.

We had the reverse with the weather today started of cloudy but warm +
1.
The piste was in great condition and we were all soon flying down the
runs around peisey. As the cloud broke we decided to head further a
field and over to arcs 2000. On route the boys had too go shopping as
they had run out of liquor and needed a drink for their legs and it
was not even midday.

out 'How the Mighty Fall' at http://gallery.me.com/steveb27/100197
Enjoy!
:-)
Another good day on the piste, lots of reds, quite a few black runs and it was Lynnes day to fall over (twice ;-) )
overnight. We decided as the the forecast was mixed to head over to la
plagne and To head high while the weather was sunny. We went up to the
bellecote glacier at 3000 metres the temperature was tropical only
minus 9 however the wind chill made it feel alot colder.

and somewhere to sit down. A couple of quick runs before Rich had to
bail back to belgum leaving team green one down but not dis-heartened.
So tean green carried on without the blue one. The sun disappeared the
cloud came down and the snow came down but we skied on until the last
lift of the day.
morning. The board said it was minus 25 at 9 Oclock this morning at
the Aiguille rouge (3200m) which for some insane reason was exactly
where we were headed !!!
The views from up there were "totally awesome dude" with a fantastic
view of Mont Blanc but we didn't hang arround too long to admire it as
all our extremities were rapidly freezing (and falling off) so down
one of the longest alpine descents (about two kilometers straight
down . . . ish ! ) to VillaRoger seemed like a good idea.
Sunday, 31 January 2010
It was a bright and sunny day, however the temperature @ 9am was -25.
We decided to go to la plagne or our name for it was la punt anyway
many miles covered again. Lunch was posh today we found a heated
picnic hut very much welcomed from the freezing conditions, finally
able to feel hands and feet for a short time.

which made getting to peisey interesting! The boys decided to fit the
snow chains a vital lessons was learnt 200 meters after fitting we
learned how to fit the chains correctly! Nigel retreated down the
road to recover the missing bits to the chains . We did arrive safely
with snow chains fitted. The day improve from here.
Collected skis and lift passes and headed off into the mountains, a
bit rusty at first but a baptism of fire soon cleared away the
cobwebs ;-)
After a cloudy and snowy start the sun came out and we remembered what
we came all this way for !
We managed to ski from peisy across to les arcs 2000 on to les arcs
1950 and finally 1800 and back to peisey
